About us

OUR STORY

With more than 30 years' experience in the homes and interiors industry between us, we (Charlotte Luxford and Sophie Vening) have seen our fair share of aspirational homes, working on titles including Grand Designs (where we first met), Ideal Home, 25 Beautiful Homes, Good Housekeeping, Livingetc, Architectural Digest, Real Homes, The Telegraph, Evening Standard, Dwell, and KBB Magazine. However, we felt something was missing – a magazine that focused solely on family-friendly homes, architecture and design, as well as all the crumbs, mud and spillages in between.

When we started our families, it made us look at interiors in a new way. Storage for stashing the toys suddenly seemed a top priority. We looked at fabrics differently and questioned whether they would stain or be hardwearing. Stunning marble coffee tables now appeared dangerous rather than demure (especially when you’ve got toddlers running around). And so the idea to create an instazine was hatched – with Nest magazine launching in 2023.
